Ko wai mātou

Pepeha

Aromau

A few years ago, our whānau came up with the word 'aromau' to mean 'cuddle'. 'Aro' means 'focus', and 'mau' means to 'hold', so we felt it was a better substitute for the kupu 'awhiawhi'.

We've named our pākihi (business) Aromau as our main goal through our products and services is to support whānau in Aotearoa and abroad to further their journey in te ao Māori, whether that's through revitalising the reo for their whānau, or just supporting kaupapa Māori.

Ngā mātāpono

Ō-panekākā: the reo of today, combining the new with Te Ao Tawhito.

Haumarutanga: keeping our tikanga and the tapu of our culture safe. We design and share products to protect our tikanga and reo.

Whakahaumanu: to restore and revive Te Ao Māori in the lives of our customers.
